1. About this policy
This Cookie Policy explains how GolfAuth Pty Ltd (ABN 55 686 258 408, hereafter “GolfAuth”, “we”, “us”) uses cookies and similar technologies on our websites and applications (the “Services”), including golfauth.com and app.golfauth.com.
It should be read with our Privacy Policy, which describes how we handle personal information more broadly. Privacy Policy §12 summarises cookie categories; this page lists the main cookies by name.
2. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the site remember your session, preferences, and (where enabled) how the site is used. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, and pixels used by analytics tools.
We group cookies as:
- Essential — required for sign-in, security, and core Service features. The Services will not work correctly without these.
- Preferences — remember choices such as display theme.
- Analytics — help us understand traffic and usage so we can improve the Services.
- Marketing — only where you have opted in. We do not use advertising networks that build cross-site profiles of visitors.
3. Cookies we use
The table below lists the principal cookies set by GolfAuth or by providers acting for us. Exact names from Google Analytics may vary slightly as Google updates its tags.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Category | Typical duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
ga_sb-auth-token (and related ga_* auth keys) | GolfAuth | Keeps you signed in across golfauth.com and app.golfauth.com (shared session on the .golfauth.com domain). | Essential | Up to 7 days |
golfauth-theme | GolfAuth | Stores the display theme preference (GolfAuth is dark-only; the cookie keeps that preference consistent across apps). | Preferences | Up to 1 year |
_ga, _ga_*, _gid | Google Analytics 4 | Distinguishes visitors and measures page views and engagement on our marketing and product surfaces (measurement ID G-GGH17Q9PM1). Configured with cross-domain linking between golfauth.com and app.golfauth.com. | Analytics | Up to 2 years (_ga); shorter for _gid |
Hosting and security providers (for example CDN or edge protection in front of our sites) may set their own strictly necessary cookies to deliver the Services securely. Those cookies are controlled by the provider’s policies.
4. Similar technologies
We also use browser storage (local storage / session storage) for essential product state — for example checkout selections, fitting session IDs, and a fallback copy of the auth session when it is too large for a cookie. Clearing site data in your browser removes these items.
We use error and performance monitoring (including Sentry) to detect failures. That tooling primarily uses network requests rather than advertising cookies; see the Privacy Policy for how operational data is handled.
5. How to control cookies
You can control cookies through your browser settings (block all, block third-party, or delete existing cookies). Disabling essential cookies will prevent sign-in and other core features from working.
To limit Google Analytics, you can use browser controls, Google’s opt-out tools where available, or privacy extensions. Opting out of analytics does not affect your GolfAuth account itself.
We do not operate a separate in-product cookie preference centre at this time. Browser controls and the settings above are the supported methods.
6. Changes
We may update this Cookie Policy when we change how cookies are used or when providers rename their cookies. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last revised” date on this page and, where appropriate, a notice in the Services or by email.
