Delete your GolfAuth account
This page is for users of the GolfAuth mobile app (published by GolfAuth on Google Play and the App Store). Use the steps below to request that your GolfAuth account and associated personal data be deleted.
How to request account deletion
Choose one of the following methods. Both start a GolfAuth account deletion request.
Option A — In the GolfAuth app (recommended)
- Open the GolfAuth app and sign in.
- Go to Account.
- Open Subscriptions.
- Tap Delete my account at the bottom of the screen.
- Read the confirmation and confirm deletion.
Option B — Without the app (email request)
- Email privacy@golfauth.com.
- Use the subject line: GolfAuth account deletion request.
- Include the phone number and/or email address registered on your GolfAuth account so we can verify it is you.
- We will confirm receipt and process the request. We aim to respond within 30 days.
What happens after you request deletion
- Your GolfAuth account enters a 30-day pending deletion period. During this time the account is deactivated (you cannot sign in).
- You may ask us to restore the account during those 30 days by emailing privacy@golfauth.com.
- After the 30-day period, deletion proceeds and is final and irreversible.
Data that GolfAuth deletes
After the pending period completes, GolfAuth deletes or permanently removes from active systems:
- Name, email address, phone number, and other directly identifying profile information
- Profile photo
- Authentication credentials and login records
- AI Caddie chat history and similar personal content you created in GolfAuth
- Active subscription information (after billing reconciliation)
- Stored payment method tokens held by GolfAuth (card numbers are processed by Stripe and not stored by GolfAuth)
- Forwarded receipt contents (subject to any shorter legal hold already required)
Data that may be kept
Some information is retained as required by law, or kept only in anonymised form that cannot reasonably identify you:
- Anonymised equipment / digital twin records — may remain for ownership integrity of clubs that have transferred to other users, or as de-identified statistics
- Aggregate / anonymised analytics — e.g. counts of equipment models in the system
- Tax, accounting, and subscription billing records — typically retained for 7 years under Australian law
- Records required by legal hold (litigation or regulatory investigation), anti-fraud where applicable, and consent records needed for compliance verification
- Data held by a fitting professional in their own business systems — GolfAuth deletes what we control; a professional may retain their own customer records under their obligations
Retention periods
| Category | Retention |
|---|---|
| Pending deletion (account deactivated) | 30 days after you request deletion |
| System backups | Up to 30 days after deletion (not used for active access) |
